His Scout profile lists offers from Boston College, Duke, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Stanford, Virginia, etc: I see some other "better schools in the nation" on that list for sure. We know enough about UM to know you don't go there as a football player for the academics, especially under RichRod. Good luck to him as a person, but (as a DeSales fan) I think he could do better.

Reread the first sentence of the post he quoted. He already pointed out that was what he was responding to.

That's a straw man so I disregarded it. Rock had a lot of offers from great schools and chose one that has not been known to stress the academic side of the student-athlete role, so obviously this was a football decision, and even there I think you find a much better combination of academics and athletics playing football for Northwestern or Stanford for instance.

His post had nothing to do with choosing between different schools. Your point still remains, I was just letting you know it was irrelevant to Diego's post that you quoted.

I can read well enough what everybody here is saying. Diego was being a little obtuse in making a literal argument against OH10's rhetorical statement--how often do you think anyone has received ONLY a scUM offer? The reality is Rock, like anyone else in his position, has lots of options and as a local boy chose the most nauseating of them. If the issue is getting the best education, scUM is of course a very good one, but a Columbus boy crosses a line when he actually lines up in the Maize and Blue.

A Michigan education is a great one, on par or superior to OSU. However athletes are funneled into irregular kinesiology and general studies.

Fandom has no business deciding where to play football. It can play a small role but it should not supersede the more logical and substantial reasons for a chosen career path.
