TE Cade Stover (Houston Texans)

HELLO, FARMER GRONK. Last week, the NFL Players Association (NFLPA) featured former Ohio State and current Houston Texans tight end Cade Stover in the fourth episode of its AthleteAnd YouTube series. The episode showcases Stover’s love for farming, which led him to purchase a cattle ranch in his hometown of Lexington, Ohio.

“(A picture of this farm) has been my screensaver since high school,” Stover said, describing his ranch’s sentimental value. “Every time I open that phone up, I just know this is what I’m working for. I was in tears when I bought this place because it’s something I’ve wanted my whole entire life.”

In the video, Stover tells the NFLPA what it took to make his dream come true. He also shows the cattle and equipment on his property, which sits just three miles from where he grew up on his family’s farm.

“Stover’s story serves as an inspiring example of how athletes can channel their passions into purposeful pursuits beyond the game, balancing the demands of professional football with the fulfillment of personal dreams,” the NFLPA stated in a press release to Eleven Warriors.

Cade Stover, tush push specialist

Like Hamilton, Cade Stover also found himself taking on a new role in Week 13.

The former Ohio State tight end had the first four rushing attempts of his NFL career as the Texans had him take a direct snap at quarterback to run the “tush push” for four plays against the Colts. He converted 3rd-and-1 on each of his first two attempts, but was stuffed for no gain on each of his final two attempts, resulting in a net total of three yards.

Stover also caught two passes for 16 yards from Stroud in the Texans’ win.
