TE Cade Stover (Houston Texans)

Looked incredibly natural catching the ball, seems like the light has come on with the offensive side of the ball. That catch on the sideline was a hell of a play...they all were, but that one he kept his feet in on and the ball stuck to his hands like stick em was pretty impressive for a converted defensive guy. He's going to have a nice season for us.

He's having the kind of season I thought Ruckert would have when he was here

I said before the season I thought this TE room would put up more stats than we’ve seen in a long time.

Honestly, the spring game was a precursor of this.

OSU felt like they were labeled soft…..in response we are seeing more under center football, which really makes the TE even more dangerous bc they’re more dangerous off play-action.

I thought it’d be more by committee, but good for Cade. Kid is making himself a lot of money.

Also thought it would be more by committee and said there would be more TE production, but if it's mostly Cade I am more than alright with that. Kid is a captain for a reason, knew he was iron tough and athletic, just didn't know how well he can adjust to a ball in air and pull it down.

Very similar to Sam Hubbard athletically. Plays S/WR for his HS team. Looks fluid for a tall, lanky sophomore. His ball skills are ahead of where Sam was at the same age, so TE wouldn't surprise me. He's a take IMO. Get him on campus and see where he fits the best.

this is a quote from 2017

“Even when I first came over (to tight end) and I sucked – and I do mean sucked – I knew in my heart, I knew ‘You're talented enough to do it, you just got to figure out how to do it.’ And I mean, it took a while, but I mean, I'm starting to stack them together,” Stover said.

Cool to see him growing that confidence....

The thing about him is he's always been a physical blocker which is mostly what tOSU has wanted in the past anyways. The fact he's evolved into a threat offensively is just the icing on the cake. He gives our offense a more physical element than it had last year.....

When was the last time (if ever) that a Buckeye TE had 2 TD passes in the first quarter?

And he almost had a 3rd one later in the game too:

Hope someone brought him breakfast in bed cuz ain't no way he's getting it by himself...
Landed on his head twice and cut in half due to a couple too-high throws...
Dude needs more than a few Tylenol this morning...
This MFer probably woke up at 4am. Fed the cows, went for a jog to loosen up and then got breakfast for the team.

Probably the toughest Buckeye I've seen and that's saying something.

Shocked by his role on the team but what a welcomed surprise.
