(Those guys, again. This is getting old)

Welcome to week 13 of tBBC Top Ten. Once again we have a topsy-turvy week in college football and the Top Ten is once again turned on it’s head. There is a major shake up this week in the top 4, however. Jeff Long and the committee will probably not see it my way but let’s hope they get it right after conference championship weekend.

1. Clemson (12-0 LW – 1 beat South Carolina 37-32)

As the weeks go on, I am sold less and less on Clemson. I feel they may have peaked too early. The Tigers have a tough game this week when they face #7 North Carolina in the ACC title game and I’m calling the upset right now. Clemson struggled with a BAD South Carolina team and I don’t see them stopping the ‘Heels. Stay tuned!

2. Oklahoma (11-1 LW – 3 beat Oklahoma State 58-23)

The Sooners are the 2015 version of last years Ohio State Buckeyes. The Sooners have rebounded from losing to a bad Texas team early in the season to go 3-0 against top 11 teams. They have an NFL quarterback and running back and I guarantee no one wants to play them right now. The Sooners are in the playoffs and the only question is what seed they’ll end up with.

3. Michigan State (11-1 LW – 5 beat Penn State 55-16)

Sparty is pretty close to firing on all cylinders right now. Connor Cook returned and looked to be his best. MSU dominated the Lions so much that they even gave their starting center a carry at running back…..and he scored…..from 7 yards out. Sparty gets the undefeated Iowa Hawkeyes on Saturday in Indianapolis and the winner is in the College Football Playoffs. I predict Sparty has little problem with Iowa and they move on to the playoffs.

4. Alabama (11-1 LW – 2 beat Auburn 29-13)

Alabama is another team I’ve been on the fence for awhile now. The Tide doesn’t really have a signature win on their schedule and their loss is about as bad as OU’s loss to Texas. Bama struggled with Auburn and they seem to be a one man show right now with Derrick Henry. I don’t think the Tide will struggle with Florida on Saturday, BUT, if they do, look for there to be great debate on the Tide and teams such as Ohio State.

5. Iowa (12-0 LW – 6 beat 28-20)

I haven’t put Iowa in my top 4 yet due to who’ve they played. I’m impressed that this team has ran the table in the regular season but I’m just not sold on them as one of the best 4 teams in the country. I predict they’ll get demolished, yes, demolished by Sparty on Saturday in Indy and will fall from the playoff probables.

6. Ohio State (11-1 LW – 7 beat Michigan 42-13)

Welcome back Ohio State. That’s the team we’ve waited to see since the Buckeyes left Dallas in late January. The Bucks dominated the Wolverines in all facets of the game. Ohio State’s one loss may be the best loss of any 1 loss team as they lost to #3 Michigan State. I predict after Saturday is over, the Buckeyes will find themselves back in the playoffs after Clemson loses and Iowa loses. If Florida somehow finds a way to upset Alabama, the Buckeyes are in for sure.

7. North Carolina (11-1 LW – 10 beat NC State 45-34)

The Heels are another one of the “hot” teams right now. After an OT win at Va Tech last week, UNC won their rivalry game over the Wolf Pack. It’ll take total chaos in the top 4 in order for UNC to make the playoffs but I do predict they upset #1 Clemson.

8. Florida State (10-2 LW – NR beat Florida 27-2)

We’ve reached the portion of the top ten that’s called “no chance in hell of making the playoffs”. The Noles dominated the Gators on Saturday and are just hoping for a New Year’s Day bowl.

9. Stanford (10-2 LW – NR beat Notre Dame 38-36)

First, all of Buckeyenation would like to thank the Cardinal for eliminating the Fighting Irish, for more than one reason. Stanford will take on USC in the PAC 12 title game and is hoping for a trip to Pasadena.

10. Notre Dame (10-2 LW – 4 loss to Stanford 36-38)

Brian Kelly left just a tad too much time for Stanford to drive down and kick the winning field goal on Saturday. It’s hard to say where Notre Dame will end up when it comes to a bowl but a New Year’s Day bowl is not out of the question.

Dropped out – Baylor, Navy. The Bears lost an ugly ugly game to TCU while Navy couldn’t keep the pace with the Houston Cougars.

Stop back next week for the final season top ten before we head into bowl season and the college playoffs.
