The line for the spots on the Buckeye Bridge wasn’t quite as long this week as it was the week before. What I mean is there was a considerable fewer number of Buckeye fans who wanted to be done with being a fan, it’s too much for their old ticker! I have to say there is a little more pep in the staff’s steps with the offense this week too!
Offensive

COLUMBUS, OH – SEPTEMBER 26: Ezekiel Elliott #15 of the Ohio State Buckeyes leaps over Darius Phillips #14 of the Western Michigan Broncos for a first down gain in the second quarter at Ohio Stadium on September 26, 2015 in Columbus, Ohio. (Photo by Jamie Sabau/Getty Images)
tOSU Offensive MVP
MDotySr – Ezekeil Elliott the man who just does it all.
Joe – Cardale Jones — A career day, but still there is plenty of room to improve.
Ken – Ezekiel. As Mike says, he does it all and does it well
Patrick – Ezekiel Elliott. The 100 yard game man just continues to roll.
Scott – Eze E
WVa – This was an easy win for Ezekiel, but I am going with Cardale here just because he was finally done looking over his shoulder. Maybe the difference between the end of last season and now is they didn’t have any other choice then? Congrats to him for shaking off JT Barrett and being the man.
The staff goes with Ezekiel in a landslide victory here.
tOSU O-line MVP
MDotySr – Billy Price was very consistent and penalty free.
Joe – Jacoby Boren did a great job today and get the ball to Cardale effectively.
Ken – Boren; his snaps were on target and he did well pulling on Zeke’s power runs.
Patrick – The line as a whole get the award. They played much much better this week.
Scott – Boren.
WVa – The Boren family has a mean streak, I don’t know if it’s just genetics or it’s how the brothers were raised. Jacoby had one of those kind of games that people will remember for some time!
Jacoby Boren runs away and hides with this weeks awards.

Michael Thomas with the great move
tOSU Offensive Top Play
MDotySr – Michael Thomas wide open TD catch to start the game.
Joe – Jalin Marshall’s 38 Yard TD set the tone for the rest of the afternoon and sank any hope for WMU.
Ken – Thomas’s TD catch. It set the tone of what could happen for the rest of the game
Patrick – This is going to be a strange one but Braxton Miller’s catch on a 3rd down play in the 3rd quarter. Braxton found a spot in the zone to sit down and was open for the pass to move the chains. It shows Braxton is learning to play WR and it will pay big dividends at the end of the year for this team.
Scott – Ezekiel hurdling the defender.
WVa – Michael Thomas had two moves in one play that destroyed two decent defenders knees. The move to get away at the line of scrimmage and then the stop and go right before the score was deadly.
CanGuardMikeJustCantStopHim wins in a tight race here.
tOSU Offensive Unsung
MDotySr – Curtis Samuel for sure. Did not get a lot of touches but made the most of his opportunities.
Joe – Curtis Samuel. Just two carries, but he played a huge role in the blocking scheme and also showed he deserves more carries behind EZE.
Ken – I agree with Curtis Samuel. He showed burst round the edge and power/elusiveness up the middle
Patrick – Ezekiel Elliott’s blocking still doesn’t get the praise it deserves.
Scott – Curtis Samuel
WVa – Curtis Samuel is getting close to not being unsung for much longer, he is replacing Evan Spencer as a devastating blocker and has the speed and moves it takes to run against the grain and hurt defenders.
No contest here, Samuel is the top unsung player again, won’t be long before he’s out of this category.
Defensive
tOSU Defensive MVP

Joshua Perry was crazy good Saturday
MDotySr – Joshua Perry was making plays all day.
Joe – Raekwon McMillan had a career day and was huge in blitz packages all day.
Ken – Josh Perry. Man, is he ever a football player.
Patrick – Adolphus Washington. His pick 6 changed the momentum and all but out WMU away at the half.
Scott – Not gonna list anyone. Gave up way too many yards, especially on the trap run.
WVa – Joshua Perry is on fire right now! As well as Raekwon is coming along and playing, Perry is making mince meet of whatever is left to block him coming off the edge.
Perry walks away with the award this week.
tOSU D-line MVP
MDotySr – Joey Bosa. Not many sacks but plenty of hurries and disruptions.
Joe – Sam Hubbard. He has earned a ton of playing time and played well on Saturday opposite Joey Bosa.
Ken – Adolphus Washington. He only had 3 tackles, but his pick-6 kept the defensive scoring streak alive
Patrick – Joey Bosa. Was held on nearly every play yet still managed to be disruptive.
Scott – see above
WVa – A-DOL-PH-US is a huge reason the defense is playing as well as it is in pass coverage and now we know he can play in space! Diesel did an amazing job joining #Zone6
This is going to be a tie this week between Washington and Bosa and rightfully so, teams are trying to double team both!
tOSU Defensive Top Play

Eyes got huge the closer to the endzone he got
MDotySr – Big Diesel with the int to the House!
Joe – DIESEL WITH THE STEAL AT MIDCOURT AND FINISHING DUNK!
Ken – A-Wash’s pick-6. He has some pretty good hands; maybe he’s the “jumbo” TE Urban needs
Patrick – Washington’s pick 6.
Scott – A-Dub with the pick 6.
WVa – Diesel Rumbles to the house(see later this week) and took no prisoners. He wasn’t going to be denied on this play!
the diesel rolls
tOSU Defensive Unsung
MDotySr – -Raekwon McMillan had a very nice game.
Joe – Joshua Perry. 13 tackles and a sack isn’t unsung, but his presence without Darron Lee in the lineup was.
Ken – Raekwon McMillan. He had a “quiet” 16 tackles. Unless you were the one being tackled, then it wasn’t so quiet.
Patrick – Raekwon McMillan. Has become the anchor of this defense.
Scott – A-Dub.
WVa – Gareon Conley is slowly becoming the best defender in the secondary and loves to hit!
Raekwon McMillan had one of the better days tackling in a while by a buckeyes defender
Odds and Ends
tOSU Special Teams MVP
MDotySr – Ditto Joe, Cam, Cam, Cam!
Joe – The Cam man Can! Three punts inside the twenty, two inside the ten.
Ken – I’ll go with Cam Johnston, with honorable mention to his coverage unit.
Patrick – Tyvis Powell and his blocked FG try.
Scott – let’s all do the Cam Cam
WVa – 51 plus yards average? I didn’t see it mentioned anywhere but that has to atleast be a single game record for Ohio State football.
The Aussie wins this award easily
tOSU Needs Improvement
MDotySr – Putting a complete offensive and defensive game together.
Joe – Finishing games will be huge for this team. Strong start, but offense struggled a bit in the second half.
Ken – Two things. First a Red Zone offensive game plan. Then, mental discipline; 12 penalties were almost as many as previous 2 games combined.
Patrick – Dontre Wilson
Scott – run defense.
WVa – please, please, please stop the penalties. This squad is too good to be that undisciplined
so many options here . . , Patrick won the straw draw, Dontre it is
WMU MVP
MDotySr – Ditto Joe again. Daniel Braverman the future Wes Welker.
Joe – Daniel Braverman, he’s an NFL receiver
Ken – Daniel Braverman; he showed OSU how to run routes. Honorable mention to their running backs, Jamauri Bogan and Jarvion Franklin. They ran hard for a combined 171 yards.
Patrick – PJ Fleck for his pre and half time speeches.
Scott – I concur. Braverman.
WVa – Braverman was pretty good on a day where he was getting all of the attention from the Buckeyes defense. That still amounted to man to man as the Buckeyes had issues with stopping the run. NFL Sundays and being very good are in his future.
Braverman didn’t have much competition here except maybe the running back Bogan
B1G Coach MVP
MDotySr – Harbaugh.
Joe – Jim Harbaugh coached a Harbaugh like team on Saturday.
Ken – Jim Harbaugh. He has UM playing at a much higher level this season.
Patrick – Wilson from Indiana. Has them off to a 4-0 start.
Scott – Anyone but Harbaugh. Can’t do it.
WVa – I am in agreement with Scott and have kicked Sr, Joe, and Ken off of any future awards until they promise to not pick him anymore.
anybody but Harbaugh
