Even though it has been quite some time since we did an awards after the Buckeyes lost a game, there have been times that we were just too disappointed in their play to give much of an effort to find the silver lining. The gang does their best this week as we gear up for TTUN.

Offensive
tOSU Offensive MVP
Joe –
Ken – J.T. not much to choose from
Patrick – J.T. I guess, he’s the only productive player by default.
Scott – Nobody really earned it.
JC – No one. I say hold the MVP award & double it up for next week.
Brandon – Zeke, I guess. At least he scored a TD.
Michael – none. None are worthy
WVa – It’s been the most difficult time for me deciding on someone in this category. I am going with Ezekiel this week
JT and Ezekiel tie on a week when nobody really was the MVP
tOSU O-line MVP
Joe –
Ken – Decker & Price threw a couple good blocks. But, when you only run 45 plays…
Patrick – no one
Scott – Seriously?
JC – Price. I watched him (for some reason) he was effective (& then ineffective) but so was everyone else. I will go with Price.
Brandon – Freshman walk-on Blake Pfenning. He looked pretty awesome that one time the camera came in from the sidelines over his head.
Michael – none. See above
WVa – Didn’t appear to be an effort by the line to open anything for Ezekiel when he did run or JT. nobody here
Billy Price wins just for his effort
tOSU Offensive Top Play
Joe –
Ken – Marshall’s TD catch looked pretty good
Patrick – Marshall’s one handed TD catch.
Scott – Running up the middle. Seemed to do that a lot. Oh wait, Marshall’s TD catch.
JC – Jalin Marshall’s catch for 6.
Brandon – Apparently QB draw…
Michael – Marshalls TD catch
WVa – Jalin Marshall’s catch for the score
Jalin Marshall wins hands down
tOSU Offensive Unsung

Patrick – Zeke
Scott – Nick Vannett. Worked his ass off in final home game.
JC – Mike Thomas. It is a shame he was not displayed more.
Brandon – Anyone but Barrett went pretty unnoticed.
Michael – Thomas. Shame was probably his last game in the shoe
WVa – Michael Thomas was unsung this week in several ways, see above.
Michael Thomas has become the total package at WR
Defensive
tOSU Defensive MVP
Joe –
Ken – The linebackers made a lot of plays
Patrick – I’m giving the entire group this award. Kept the Buckeyes in the game but we’re just on the field too long.
Scott – Whole unit. Giggity.
JC – Perry & Raekwon. Not Bosa.
Brandon – Josh Perry and Raekwon McMillan, both seemed to be in on every play.

Patrick – Tyquan Lewis
Scott – Tyquan Lewis. Good effort.
JC – Lewis. He was in it to win it.

JC – McLaurin. Speed & guts.
Brandon – McLaurin. He showed great speed on that muffed punt recovery.

McLaurin wins his first ever award
