Taos Getting Loose in the Recruiting Forum

Taosman

Your Cousin In New Mexxico
If he was snapping in the Sugar Bowl there would not have been any drama.
Or maybe we're over thinking the effect of a SEC fast long snapper? :tongue2:
After all, the punter has to do his thing quickly, also!
Great kid, though! :oh:

How in the wide world of sports was that blocked punt the long snapper's fault?

you make the mistake of thinking you live in the same reality as taos, who just makes it up as he goes.

The punting game has been substandard for multiple years, but not because of mcquaide.

I asked questions. I'm open to hearing how the whole punt snapper/punter thang works as far as what actually makes a difference between a clean punt and a block.
So, please! Enlighten us all.
Carry on.

The long snapper can only get the ball back accurately and quickly, which was done in the case of the blocked punt in the Sugar Bowl. The problem there was two-fold: The punter took his sweet-assed time and the Arky defender who blocked the punt made a great leap over the block. The snap itself was in no way at fault...

You did not ask a question. You declared that if Haynes had been snapping instead of mcquaide, the block/drama would have been avoided. That's extremely unfair to insinuate that Jake was to blame, who did his job.

If you want to pull things out of thin air and declare them as truths, stick to things that do not blame people who do their assignments.

Toas, remember that time you won a National Championship and countless BCS bowls as a Head Coach of the Buckeyes?

Cause I remember the time JT did. Hasn't he earned a bit of leeway in terms of who he offers and recruits?

Thank you! Some better perspective here. And I was not blaming the snapper.

Now I realize, Taos, that you're a hippy and all that and you were probably not in the military at any time, but usually, to my thinking, when you ask the above, you are looking for some kind of response (in fact that is the game you are playing here, but anyway).....

But when you beg someone to "enlighten" you, the language used indicates you want a response, much like the use of "over" in military radio etiquette.

So when you say this:

Carry on.

You are essentially saying "shut up and go away", especially in the Navy (not so much in the Army, AF or Marines in my experience, I could be wrong though).

Which is it? Enlighten you ( ) or shut up and go away?
