Take Your Child to Work

Did you take your kid to work today?

My company has a big thing for the kids today. I got a little mad though because they said the kids have to be 8-14 years of age. I didn't bring my son today because he is only 6. When I got here there was about 8 kids that were under 8. :(

I have a class of 10 right now that is usually 22 and my homeroom had half of the class absent.

It's an unexcused absence at our school.

If it's such a great thing, why not have "take your child to work" day in the summer time?

I think I started a thread about this last year, I should try to bump it if I can.

when i was a kid "take you child to work day" meant i did all my dads bitch work for the previous and upcomming month in one day.

My dad was off today. So I'm at my old middle school job shadowing my old gym teacher. I've been playing basketball all day.

This doesn't even count as a absence at my school.

I'm glad I didn't bring the 5-year old today. First thing this morning I logged in and checked my reports and realized that we're getting hit with a SpamBot. My servers maillog is spitting out entries faster than I can even filter and read them.

there are few days at work i dislike more. this coming from someone who 3 times this year will have to work a month without a day off.

i have 3 that are running up and down the cubes, one 4 cubes down is crying, another across the way is screaming for his/her mommy.

edit: the one across the cube is argueing with his father over whether or not he can erase half his whiteboard. ive got to remember to take this day off next year *sigh*
