Just saw this story on the front page of the Enquirer. That's a crappy thing to have happen to your football team, and it's good to see that people from around the community stepped up to help them out.
Taft gets fired up
Uniforms set ablaze; Colerain donation allows Senators' game to go on
BY QUAN TRUONG AND JOHN ERARDI
The kelly green helmets were the only thing left.
The jerseys said "Colerain," but Friday night's football game was all about the Taft Senators.
Taft High School football players weren't sporting their team colors for their game at Withrow, but team spirit was stronger than ever.
After a suspicious fire destroyed all their uniforms just hours before kickoff, Coach Mike Martin said the loss would only push his players harder.
"Game's on," he said before Friday's 7:30 p.m. game. "Somebody's not a Taft lover, and somebody doesn't want us to play, but we're playing."
