Fantasy Tabletop gaming

BuckeyeSoldier

2 time Reigning BuckeyePlanet Poker Champion
Do we have any/many posters here that take part in Tabletop RPG games? D&D/Pathfinder/Cthulu?
If so where do you game? or where are you centered around if you are looking for a game?

I have a once/month regular setup for D&D with some family/friends. There's a game shop (not much of a place, honestly) over in Reynoldsburg where we meet one Friday night per month to play. Obviously not hardcore.....I hadn't played in 20+ years when we got this going and nobody else other than the DM had ever played.

I'd love to find a game with people that are a bit more interested in it....the DM's good, but other than my brother-in-law, the rest of the group isn't up for anything serious.

I was introduced to D&D probably around age 6. Used to play a lot up through high school until everybody got heavily invested in Magic in college. We resumed D&D around 1998 and then stopped again in 2004 because I was burned out that everything devolved into stupid meta-game/meta-Forgotten Realms arguments. My group is trying to get back into it but it's basically impossible because of conflicting schedules. We rolled up characters for Pathfinder six or eight weeks ago and have had to scrap two scheduled dates we tried to play because a guy couldn't make it.

Play a lot of board games too. Power Grid, Pandemic Legacy, Dead of Winter, Eldritch Horror have been the staples for awhile now.

I've always been really into it. Have actually had an itch to open a proper store in Lancaster for a few year. Fairfield County has a pop of 160k and nowhere that runs proper FNM drafts or a place to pick up board games. Everybody I know drives 45 minutes to play at the Guardtower or Comic Town. Would love to duplicate that down here.

Ha, I had actually completely forgotten that I had even made this post. Thats awesome.. My group has a weekly wednesday game and a bi-weekly saturday game.. we started at a gameshop in Nerk, but we moved it to my house so my wife could play too without trying to find babysitters 6 times a month.. We play Pathfinder, and could always use another player or two.

I'd be down. I swear I am not crazy in person. I played. . . wow. . . mostly a very, very long time ago. But dabbled two years ago again. Also, all the intermediate online stuff, which pretty much doesn't count.

Dont feel bad, I started playing again less than a year ago, before that I hadnt played in about 15 years. If you are serious about coming and playing, https://www.paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/ is the homesite, you dont have to buy any books or anything, everything you need is available online for free. We have two seperate campaigns running right now, one is everywednesday from 6 to 10 but normally doesnt start till around 630. the other is every other saturday from 5 to midnight.. if you just wanna give it a trial run we have dice and everything you can borrow to see what ya think..

Just a note, I play by the rules. That means I am always the ass hole (thief, etc.) that always dies.

ummm.. i am slightly confused.. i have no idea why playing by the rules means you always die.. but i will say that in our current games no PC has died in the year i have been playing.. in a few months i will take over saturdays in my own campaign. i expect many deaths to ensue... we will see how the players react after being coddled by the previous DMs

I tend to choose weak characters with long end games (Thief/Acrobats, Monks) and then do stupid shit.
