T/F Aaron Johnson (Ohio State track)

Premium article over at B$B. Johnson clan say they have been to told to call next week because Peterson is gone for the week. Nothing in the article sounds positive for an existing or future OSU offer.

Mods: I hope this post is within board rules. I am trying to grasp the nuances of board policy on posting info from a premium article.

As long as you are not quoting anything, are simply synopsizing the article, and provide the link, you're fine...you may also want to remove the extra "http://" in the llink...

AJ is a perfect example of why you have to look beyond what the kids say. Johnson is 5' 10", 152 lbs, 4.56 forty, 4.69 shuttle, 64.14 SPARQ, plays for a small school which has had a losing record over the past two seasons, is rated #25-#35 player in Louisiana ... a decent prospect, perhaps, but not exactly tOSU material. Remember, the coaches cannot comment on recruits, so we get only one side of the story with respect to offers.

A situation like this arises almost every year, where a player tries to commit to Ohio State without the benefit of an offer - Kenyon Burford (2003), Frank Morton (2004), Gartrell Shavers (2004), Conredge Collins (2005)....

true but forget all that stuff.....if his other offers are legit (as reported by scout)...he has a pretty impressive list...

Auburn
Georgia
FSU
scUM

although LSU (home state school) not offering might be telling

Scout.com's database for offers is just based on what the recruits say in interviews. Seems like a similar situation with that recruit from michigan (Everson?) that is claiming many offers.

The horrible thing about these situations is that the coaches can't say a word about what is going on. Any recruit can claim offers and then make coaches look bad if they don't get their way.

Hopefully in this instance it was just a major mis-communication. It's not going to be good for either side if it would somehow turn into an ugly situation.
