After his team ended up with 2-6, 4-8 record.

Sylvester Croom resigned as Head Coach today at Mississippi State.

This follows an embarrassing 45-0 loss to Mississippi.

There are now only two African-American Head Coaches in College Football.

Croom, who took over the team while it was under NCAA sanctions, won 2007 SEC coach of the year honors after leading the Bulldogs to an 8-5 finish and the Liberty Bowl. He signed a contract extension in the offseason that paid him $1.7 million this year.
But he came under immediate pressure from fans after a season-opening loss to Louisiana Tech of the Western Athletic Conference, and the heat only intensified as the offensively inept Bulldogs stumbled to a 4-8 finish.

From Coach of The Year - to persona non grata in a year.
 
Miss State has delusions of grandeur. The occasional 8-9 win year, like they had last year, is as good as it is going to get in Starkville. No coach is going to win consistently there, unless they move to the Sun Belt Conference.

I count three (Shannon, Gill and Sumlin).

Still, a 50% turnover rate in one season is going to generate a lot of press.

And Randy Shannon's leash will start to get short next season.

Null (or Empty) Set

This is probably the weirdest thing about sets.

As an example, think of the set of piano keys on a guitar.
"But wait!" you say, "There are no piano keys on a guitar!"
And right you are. It is a set with no elements.
This is known as the null set.There aren't any elements in it. Not one. Zero.
It is represented by

Some other examples of the null set are the set of countries south of the south pole. And coaches who want this job that will be a noticeable improvement over Croom.
