Surprise of the Century: No Respect Again from Trev Alberts

the two teams i have the biggest problems with on this list is usc and scum. this is a top 5 teams to watch out for. unless you have been living under a rock for the past few years you know usc doesn't exactly suck. so i hardly consider them a team to "watch out for". id consider them a team you look forward to playing all year. scum, as much as they lost from last year i don't think they have the tools to be a big time team this year. *shrug* i could be wrong, but i see this as more of a rebuild year for them. perhaps thats the reason they are on a "watch out list". simply because people might think they are down this year and might get surprised. but then... how could you walk into a game against scum and expect them to roll over and play dead? *ponders*

Ohhhhhhh...I thought they were football analysts. I thought they were BAD football analysts. I wondered how they were able to keep their jobs after being so wrong for so long. But if they're there for comic relief, then that explains it.

let the hatred begin... All I know is the year he gave us the most grief, we won the whole enchilada... Trevie and his hubby Mark are idiots. They are employed for comic relief, not football analysis...
I agree, explains a lot! But then, they're really not all that funny either.

it may have been called "Teams to watch out for" but i think it was basically just going over his "top 5" teams for this next season.

What about Virginia Tech? I mean sure, they have a good team for next year, but I dont see how they can rank ahead of OSU. They got little Vick, who is a good player, but needs to stay out of trouble. They usually do have a good defense so ill give them that. I just think that with A.J. Hawk returning, we are going to be a nasty team to have to move the ball against.

What Tech could really get scary with is if they put Victor Harris at RB or returning kicks. Ive seen this kid play in high school (we actually barely missed playing his team this past year) and that kid can fly. He'll be a good CB, but i think can run the ball very well in college.

Zurp, No doubt, they are anal alright!! As far as keeping their jobs, the're like weatherman on the news. The only job, I thought, that you could totally screw up, and still keep. As far as comic relief, They ought to join the Saturday night live crew. What a gas!

Trev Alberts

LB, No. 5 overall, Indianapolis Colts, 1994

Alberts' career got off to a rocky start when ESPN analyst Mel Kiper ripped Indy for picking him, drawing the public ire of Colts GM Bill Polian. In three injury-plagued seasons, Alberts couldn't prove Kiper wrong.

A bit of History -- mayhaps Mssr Alberts has failed to learn his lesson:
Before the 1965 season, Playboy Magazine picked Iowa as their preseason number one team in the nation, Jerry Burns as Coach of the Year and thier QB was to be the college player of the year. predicted a 9-1 record for the Hawks. Instead, Iowa finished the year 1-9, including a 38 zip blackeye by the Buckeyes. Before Iowa's final game that season, it was announced that Burns would not be retained in 1966.
