Super Bowl XLIV: Saints 31 Colts 17 (F)

I kind of like the play-call. It didn't work, but you kick the field goal and you're leaving the best 2 minute QB in the NFL with 2 minutes and the ball around the 20-30 yard line most likely. The score can easily go 17-6 or 13-6 depending on what Indy's offense does. Same score as if you had kicked the field goal.

so Sean Peyton's decesion to go for it on 4th and goal is neutralized by a nice defensive stand and a field goal to end the half. It actually worked out better for the Saints, as they didn't have to kick-off and give the Colts decent field position with 2 minutes.

I don't disagree with the call to go for it. It's not something that's out of character for them. I thought the play they called was a good one too - the Colts defense just met the challenge.

In the end, it didn't hurt the Saints. They pinned the Colts deep and handcuffed Manning with poor field position. They got the ball back and got the FG they decided against moments earlier.

I disagree with the call to go for it. Though the runner slipped on the earlier play, it was also quite obvious the Colts had the edge covered.

Play action was the better bet on third. Field goal the better call on 4th.
