I should have known the Giants' defense was for real when they stopped Dallas at Dallas, and they put pressure on Brady, but he couldn't hit the broadside of a barn last night on anything deeper than 10 to 15 yards. That's not the Tom Brady we've seen in previous games.

I'd say the Giants are going to be looking for a new defensive coordinator after last night's performance.

David Tyree's acrobatic catch during the Giants' winning drive was just one play that made the latest Super Bowl a game for the ages.

A game for the ages.
All ages. A 10-year-old boy jumps off the couch with a "woo-hoo" for the New York Giants. An 81-year-old grandfather keeps repeating, "I didn't think they could pull it off."
You want Super? This was it. And not because the New England Patriots lost. Sure, it was satisfying to watch them get cut down to size, if for no other reason than we are a nation of underdogs. Dating to that historic day when some wig-wearing colonial declared independence from the Brits, this country has held a special place in its heart for the overachiever.

Couldn't believe how huge Doug Williams looked when he brought the trophy up to the podium! He was standing next to Bradshaw and it was hard to believe that the two played the same position. Dude is just huge!

And back to the game...amazing defense by the Giants. I love watching Brady get hit!

Of course Mercury Morris is on right now running his big fucking mouth. :smash:
Somebody put that asshole back in the cupboard until the next team makes a run at an undefeated season. If were lucky, he'll be dead by then. Pathetic douchebag.

CFN touched on this theme a week ago, but this NFL post-season/Superbowl is a perfect example of why I think that a college football playoff is not the cure-all, or even a preferable alternative, that many make it out to be. A team that is no more than decent, but gets hot at the right time can easily become champion. Great post-season by the Giants, but does anyone seriously think that the NFL's best team was just crowned world champs? And is it just (as in justice) that a team who finished second in its conference, and is 1-1 vs. the runner-up, is the champion? A college playoff would be no better at producing an objective "best team" than the BCS is, or than the old bowl system was, in my opinion, and would have the downside of further degrading the tradition of the old bowls.
