nice call to put 12 defenders in there. that was a very smart move.

Very smart call to force the hail mary.

Great game to watch if one didn't really care about the teams, at least it was entertaining.

Minor point, but why even have a SB MVP award anymore? Why not just call it the "Winning QB" award, because I don't think anyone else will ever win another one unless they flat dominate the entire game.

Who else would you give it to?

Mario for making one play? Tuck for making a coverage sack, disappearing for most of the game, then making a few plays down the stretch? Bradshaw for his decent rushing performance? The punter?

Nicks had 10 catches for 109 yards, Manningham was 5/73 including the real big play of the game, Bradshaw had almost 100 total yards and the GW TD (that he didn't mean to score ), Tuck had 2 TFL and 2 sacks and 3 QB hits, hell Chase Blackburn had 6 tackles, a PD and the game's only turnover deep in his own territory...none of those are exactly epic performances, but neither is 280 yards and one TD for Eli.

I'm still not sure that any of those are any better than 30/40 for 290 yds. 1TD and 0 turnovers. Not an outstanding stat line either, but I thought he played a very solid game, took what the defense gave him, and he made a few tremendous throws including that ball to Manningham on the sideline.

So what part of that is an answer? Who are you going to give it to?

Nicks was very lucky to have his fumble recovered. So was Bradshaw.

Bradshaw had little room to run early on, then Eli softened them up with the pass. Afterwards, Bradshaw ran for a solid but unspectacular 72 yds on 17 attempts.

Mario blew it on the previous drive on a catch any NFL receiver should make (he had no clue where his feet where). Very nice catch on the next play, not really an epic one deserving of an MVP trophy.

No one said Eli was the only one who made plays. He was the most consistently good player on the field.

Mario, Blackburn get on this list for one big play.
Tuck gets on here for two, despite the gulf of time between them when Tom went up and down the field.
Bradshaw gets on here without any.

Eli completed 75% of his passes and threw a number of great passes into tight coverage, including Mario's big play.

I dislike the QB favoritism in awards also, but I don't see anyone else deserving of that award more.

New England still hasn't won a Super Bowl since Spygate.

There has to be Karma somewhere (Spygate in 2007 and last championship was 2004).

Or is "Schematic Advantage" that good of a coordinator, that New England can't win w/o him
