The rule is that you cannot have two people wearing the same number on the field at the same time.

Just not the same number on the same side of the field (offense vs defense). You can have a QB wearing #9 and a Safety wearing #9 as well.

Just in case there is any confusion there.

You can have every single offensive walkon wear #2, they just can't be on the field at the same time as Pryor or each other. There are two walkon WRs with #83.

edit: misread your post the first time around

Night practice tentatively set
OSU is tentatively planning to hold a night practice -- which typically are held in Ohio Stadium and free to the public -- on Monday, August 24.

That's not set in stone yet.

Also, I am betting that, like last year, there were be no autograph session involved. The school has tried several ways of conducting a session in past years, and someone always walks away unhappy.

BIG TEN NETWORK TOUR COMING
Big Ten Network personalities Dave Revsine, Gerry DiNardo and Howard Griffith will attend the OSU practice on Aug. 11 -- the second day of pre-season camp for the Buckeyes -- and report on the goings-on later that night on the network.
It will kick off the network's tour of conference camps, which will continue Aug.13 at Penn State, and then to Michigan (Aug. 14), Michigan State (Aug. 15), Indiana (Aug. 17), Purdue (Aug. 18), Illinois (Aug. 19), Northwestern (Aug. 20), Wisconsin (Aug. 21), Minnesota (Aug. 22) and the finale at Iowa (Aug. 25).

They check in tomorrow morning. No room to spare at check-in, or the pics will be blocked for everyone trying to see them from home. There's hardly room for the media.

NCAA shoots down OSU practice plan
Ohio State was hoping to hold a practice "on the road" Aug. 19 at Wilmington College, but the NCAA has said no. Here's a short story in the Wilmington paper. An OSU spokesperson confirmed it, as well.

The basis behind the NCAA decision is probably to prevent teams from going on "barnstorming" type tours, which would give a team a recruiting edge.

Now, OSU went to nearby Capital University for a stealth night practice two years ago, but since that was so close to their own campus, it likely was not an issue. Obviously, it's already their home recruiting territory.

The Buckeyes open preseason camp Monday. As of now, the only public peek into practice will be Aug. 24 at Ohio Stadium, in the evening (no exact time known yet).
