What was an underrated part of my night was hearing Justin in the after game interviews say and I'm paraphrasing.

"The tight ends have been open all year I missed them a lot in the previous games when I shouldn't have".

How cool is that? He said he studied harder than ever and he saw what was there for the taking at any time.

Back to being a dick mode? JF still cant throw that INT into triple coverage lol...

Just so glad we got the monkey off our back.

Alright, so I'm really drunk right now. BUT...I walked into the game pretty sober to enjoy the game. I'm so glad I did. This win was right up there with beating that Bama ass in '14. It might be better though with everything considered. With every damn thing against us we just put up the performance of a lifetime.

Of course I want to complete the story Coach Day talked about. Winning a championship would be incredible. But winning this game is just unreal and I'll enjoy the shit out of this season with all that we've been through. To see the smiles on the player's and coach's faces? Just priceless. It really said it all. They love each other and you saw all the hard work pay off on a season where we thought football might not happen.

Call me emotional, sentimental, drunk or whatever, but I'm freaking tearing up on this one. Buckeye fans better cherish this into perpetuity.

Edit: I distinctly remember when we would not have a season. I can't even believe this is happening. Can you fucking believe it? I can't. Just amazing.

Personally I gotta go with the dynasty-killing Fiesta Bowl win against Miami.

Edit: Also, for the younger fans, it had been 24 years and two failed coaching regimes since tOSU won a Natty and we were just coming out of the "annual loss to Xichigan" era.

I think ab under appreciated lesson here is maybe Day learned from LJSR to run the ball more? Going back to the Sparta game, we seen the run game pick up massively there and it grew from there to where we are now, a perfectly balanced team on offense with just Sermon running (who’s become his own self lately) maybe Day had a learning lesson sitting that game out to see the potential and see the players that stepped up to the challenge to put trust into putting the ball in Sermon’s hands. This offense is starting to gel at just the right time. I line did very well tonight and hope they continue this in a week and a half!

They say the joy of victory isn't worth the agony of defeat but I have to disagree. This is total redemption and almost makes up for last year in my mind. Special shout out to these 3 players.

Justin Hilliard: 4 years of injuries where people mistook you for a 5 star bust. You are going to make some NFL team proud.

Trey Sermon: You came to Ohio state to make a name for yourself. You waited patiently but when your time came showed what you're really made of. Absolute beast.

Justin fields: 5 star All American that people quickly turned on for a couple subpar performances. You didn't let that phase you and put your dick on the table in the biggest game of your life. The Jets would be a fool not to take you.

Love this team.

I was still too young to enjoy that game fully... having personally watched three loses to Clemson thought it's not close for me.

The best part of the night for me though? Watching Skulski getting ejected. I was fired up when it went to replay because I knew their heart beat was gone and it was only right after what happened to us last year.

So happy for these kids and especially Ryan Day... we are going to be sore AF tomorrow so we hopefully can enjoy the next few days off. I know Davis/Fields/Jones are all going to need the time to recover.

Justin Fields.

I've been hard on him at times during this season and as far back as last year. Rightfully so, in some cases. The talent is there, so it sucks when you just don't see it consistently deployed.
But the fact Day came out throwing tonight was initially a shock until I remembered Tress praising Pryor in his development during bowl practices leading up to the Rose Bowl. He showed greater consistency, decisiveness, touch and anticipation in this game than honestly any of the previous 1 & 1/2 seasons combined IMHO. Trevor Lawrence will still go #1, but JF, with just one game, has put himself back into that #2 conversation above Wilson and Lance.

But it isn't enough to just hang your hat on this game alone, there were still a few really spotty throws that could have come back to haunt you. At the end of the day, it's nit-picking when you drop a 6 spot on any team. The devil and the perfection are found in the details though. Everything I wanted to see this team do in this game, they did it and did it well.

- JF played far more controlled within the offense and used his legs with timing to pickup chunk yards. (avoided taking coverage sacks) Had some nice touch on the intermediate stuff and long ball aside from that first overthrow.
- Sermon played like a man possessed of Zeke's 2014 spirit.
- The WR's made plays for their QB all night.
- The pass rush brought noise.
- The Oline picked up pressures, moved with when called to slide, and annihilated in that outside zone stretch especially.
- The front 7 worked their asses off to get past blocks. A huge reason the Silver Bullets limited the Clemson option game.
- The Secondary, while not great, played with a bit more cohesion in their zone pass-offs. A problem at times all season.

An added bonus, the most action I've seen go to our TE corps in....? Jesus, I can't even remember? I was a kid when Ricky Dudley was getting targets. So I'll say since then?

Didn't think I'd see that type of improvement and intensity in a few weeks prep time. But I did and it has been a memorable day for that.
