There is relief in sight. Subway is supposed to be working on a plastic card with a magnetic strip so as to eliminate the counterfeiting problem of the stamps. They aren't opposed to the "frequent buyer" incentives, but just don't want to be giving out free grub to the thieves.
They had cards in use out west for a while, but discontinued them after a few months. Must have been testing the idea. It was more convenient - I never bothered with the stickers, but did use the card.
