BayBuck;674349; said:As the article states, OSU gets 16K total tickets, 5000 of which go to donors/sponsors and the rest "divided among various groups, including the athletic department, university administration, the alumni association and the marching band."
If our opponent gets the same amount, that's still only half the stadium filled, which means you can still get tickets through the various packages available to everyone. That's in the article too: "Students who didn't win the chance to buy the $185 tickets could also get into the game by purchasing a university-sponsored tour package, at a cost of around $2,000. About 500 students took advantage of the offer, according to the athletic department."
I'd actually feel bad if 90% of the students weren't selling their tickets the second they got them.as a student and season ticket holder i personally think the ticketing dept went under the rug with the whole issue only to keep booster and alum happy more than anything else. i find it incredibly ironic that the ticket office, which sends out emails about everything and keeps all the students informed as to when tickets go on sale, for how much, and in what manner, sent out NO emails. i was curious how it was going to work so i emailed them monday and it turned out the lottery was 8-5 monday in which of those 6000 that knew only heard by word of mouth. thats already unfair right there if students dont even have an equal opportunity amongst each other to gain a ticket. and 6000 students showed up......please if people would have actually known about the tickets going on sale there would have been 15000+ waiting in line to get into the lottery. im broke but i can still manage a way to get to glendale and pay the small amount of 185 bucks for a ticket so thats not an issue. if they shorted out out the 02 students as well then thats shameful on them. the stadium holds 73,000 fans and they are only sending 1000 students from each school. what is the remaining 71,000 fans comprised of then?
