Student Tasered at campus forum for Kerry

No shit! Everybody knows that you can judge exactly how tough a guy is by looking at him. Dumb pigs.

I still think the tasing was excessive. I do agree that the cops were doing their jobs in removing him from the situation, but they could have just taken him out of the venue and kept him away. Can someone provide the link or quote from the article where the school or Kerry officials asked the police to remove or restrain this individual? I missed that.

I am surprised tasering is listed that low on a use of force standards. I would love to see that list if you could provide a link. I'm just interested to see how that flow goes. I Googled it, but could not find anything that specific and figured you would know right away where this info is.

I did read this quote from cnn.com:

"The police department does have a standard procedure for when they use force, including when they use a Taser," Orlando said. "That is what the internal investigation would address -- whether the proper procedures were followed, whether the officers acted appropriately."

So it would appear that the police department is not ready to stand firmly and say the officers followed the proper conduct to the letter.

Apparently the phrase "don't tase me bro" had gained some serious web momentum over the last few days.

Threat Level - Wired Blogs

Just two days after it was yelled out in a University of Florida lecture hall, "Don't Tase Me, Bro!" has become the newest cultural touchstone of our pop-cultural lexicon.
