Striking the Heisman Pose

Still fortitudinous

Today's interview is even after I saw Archie on TV strike a heisman pose and say that Howard did it wrong.

Archie is 100% right -- Howard DID do the Heisman pose incorrectly in the end zone against us. If you look at the trophy, both feet are firmly planted on the ground, yet in Howard's version, he has one leg lifted off the ground. This is the most glaring error. But if you look at the trophy and Howard's rendition, you'll also note that he did it backwards--the ball is supposed to be in his left arm, and the extended leg is supposed to be the left leg. Howard did both with his right.

I know this all is pretty irrelevant in the broad scope of things, but you'd think that as much as people love talking about Howard striking the pose against us, it would have come up before that his pose was incorrect from a technical standpoint.

Somehow the pain is not diminished. :(

It only appears to you to be two feet on the ground because you are looking at it through your slow, plodding Big10 eyes. Once you get more used to Florida speed, you will actually be able to see that both feet are off the ground. Desmond Howard is about half as fast as your average Florida athlete, so his eyes are attuned enough to get the picture half-right.

Once your eyes adjust to Florida speed, you may also notice that there are 11 teams in the Big10.

So, this is the wrong thread for me to ask you about the Erie Doctrine and a summary of Pennoyer v. Neff?

Pennoyer is the story of an Oregon governor who proclaimed Oregon's Thanksgiving holiday to be one week later than the rest of the nation; a land litigation lawyer who was forced to marry a 15-year old girl he got pregnant (at age 22), left her for a schoolmarm, entered a bigamous marriage, and carried an affair with his wife's sister; and something about personal jurisdiction.
