Lancaster, Ohio is Buckeye Country. Kern, Carpenter, Cordle, are all names of Buckeye lore...add in the only man to go undefeated against the SEC and you have a breeding ground for Northern Aggression.

Kyle Trout could be the next Lancaster native to represent the Buckeyes. The #4 ranked prospect in Ohio's class of 2014 has the size, tenacity, and relentless work ethic to lead another march through the South.

The BPRT was lucky enough to slow Kyle down for a quick shot at the
Straight Six.

BPRT: When you think of Ohio State football, what comes to mind?

KT: When I think of Ohio State I think about how successful they have been over a long period of time and that they have a great coaching staff.
BPRT: What position would you prefer to play in college and why?

KT:
I prefer to play left tackle in college because it's the position I'm best at and I think it's where I have the best potential to make it to the next level. But I'll play wherever a coach needs me, I've played every position on the line already including center and tight end. This year I will play both tackle and guard some.

BPRT:
Your high school career is halfway over...what goals have you set personally and for your team?

KT:
Personally I've been working hard to strengthen my stabilizers, my core and general overall strength. I've worked hard on speed, conditioning and endurance as well. So my personal goal is to continue to develop my body to help prepare for the upcoming season. The team goal I have is to first do better than last year, then make the playoffs and do well once we get there.

BPRT:
When your career is over, how would you like people to remember Kyle Trout?

KT:
I hope that people will be able to look at my career no matter how long or short it is and think that I was a hard worker, good player and dedicated. Those would be great, but hopefully they also appreciate that I never put myself above others and tried to help others when I could.

BPRT:
If you were analyzing yourself on film, what would you list as your strengths and what needs some work?

KT:
It's hard to say right now because I've worked so hard at my weaknesses this off season. Last year I was hard hitter but struggled with balance on occasion. The conditioning and training I've done in the off season have helped that tremendously. Obviously we have not passed a ton so my pass protection is very raw, but the coaches at OSU saw that but said that I could take instruction and put it to use very well so they were not concerned with that.

BPRT:
What are some of your favorite things to do away from football?

KT:
I like to work out, play video games, play basketball, hang out with friends and help out in the community.
