Been quite a long while since that's happened, at least for football.

Immediately poking a hole in his premise that the fan base should get excited about the clarity that next season will provide... uh, what if Harbaugh stumbles his way into doing just well enough not to get fired?

Isn’t that the whole thing with Harbaugh? Are we happy with 9-3 or 10-2? Or should our expectations be higher?

Now that they adjusted his contract, could you argue that 9-3 is good enough?

A clarity providing crash and burn will be glorious, no doubt. But the slow agony of just doing well enough will also be enjoyable.
