What's even better about the new DNA Law is that this guy's name never came up in the last 12 years and b/c of his DNA sample being submitted, he was located.

Wonder how long it is until every citizen is required to donate a DNA sample at birth to be put into a national database?

It almost happens at death. According to a book I'm reading, DNA from every autopsy gets placed into a national registry. It says for all autopsies, not just those where foul play is suspected.

I also saw where the defense lawyer is claiming he wasn't read his Miranda rights so he is trying to get the confession thrown out.
