Stanley Cup Final - Blackhawks-Flyers

I'm sure the Versus and NBC folks are scrambling through the record book to see who's been in 3 straight Cup Finals for 3 different teams, as Hossa would if the Hawks finish off the Sharks.

According to Versus, Hossa is the first to do that, and the only other players to reach the Finals in any of the major sports for 3 different teams in 3 straight years were 2 baseball players:

Don Baylor in 3 World Series: '86 for Bosox, '87 for Minny, '88 for Oakland

Eric Hinske in 3 World Series: '07 for Bosox, '08 for Tampa, '09 for Yankees

Hjalmarsson had two bad giveaways right near the net that cost Chicago a pair of goals. Richards picked his pocket coming around the back on the net on a power play, and another time he cleared the puck straight away from the front of the net but right to a Flyer. After getting down 4-1, the Hawks just missed a chance to tie it up with a little under 2 minutes left.

Hopefully home ice holds for game 5.

With the exception of about a 10 minute span in the 3rd period, Chicago really looked gassed the entire game.

Honestly, I think Philly really blew a chance in game 1. They absolutely have to win game 5 in Chicago.

It's now 5-2. Pronger wasn't on the ice for either Flyer goal, and he was on the ice for the first 4 Blackhawk goals.

As for the last Chicago goal, Pronger wasn't on the ice, but he was in the penalty box.

The final score was 7-4 after an empty-netter by Byfuglein with 2:05 left. And yes, Pronger was on the ice for the last 2 Hawk goals, and I'm pretty sure he wasn't on the ice for any Flyer goals tonight.

Pronger had a very good +/- rating for the series before this game, but it just got fucking destroyed tonight. Plus, Byfuglein really nailed him a couple of times on clean hits near the boards.

edit - the stats show him as -5 for the game, so he must have been on the ice for one Flyer goal.

One more win ends a 49-year drought. Go Hawks!

The Trbune isn't taking it easy on Blackhawks enemy #1.
