Stanford +6.5 at Oregon (ov/un 65.5) 8 ET ESPN

Mark May arguing that Oregon should be ranked #2 because they have impressed the entire country and OSU looked pathetic against Illinois. He's once again been hypnotized by 70 point games and crazy, retina-burning uniforms just like last year. Oh Mark, you so craaaazy!

The game wasn't on here. For those that saw it, how does this Oregon team look compared to last year? If they played OSU next week, would it be similar to the Rose Bowl?

I don't think so.

Stanford's secondary was horrible and much of Oregon's offense was done on long passes through the air. As "off" as our secondary has been this season I don't think it would give up those same plays. Their defense was picked apart much in the same way. While overall I think Andrew Luck is probably going to turn out to be a better pro QB I'm pretty certain TP could make a lot if not ALL of the same throws that he did against the Oregon secondary. They're ranked #4 right now and possibly #3 by Monday afternoon, but I don't think a game between the two of them would be as close as the Rose Bowl. I think Ohio State would hold them under 20 and put up at least 40.

Then again after a game like today I've been wearing my scarlet colored glasses in self defense.

About the same. DL is still a major issue. Can't stop the run or get pressure without blitzing LB's and DB's. Offense is also about the same. Thomas will make mistakes like Masoli did but I think he'll end up becoming a better player.

I see a loss to Arizona but that's it. Should finish 11-1.

Sounds about right to me. They made some good halftime adjustments and held Stanford scoreless in the second half, but they still gave up about 225 yards. Stanford was worse on defense than I expected before seeing them.

LOL , they're going to beat Arizona like an ugly redheaded stepchild.

Definitely possible since it's at Autzen but Arizona has a massive OL that might run over Oregon's DL. I still see a loss somewhere. Hard to expect a team to go 12-0 with a D that's given up over 500 yards twice in a row now.

is anyone else sick and tired of hearing about how great oregon is? has everyone forgotten what happened last year when that high powered offense ran into an actual defense? they got beat in the rose bowl and got exposed for what they truly are: one sided. they and the rest of the conference plays soft d. there is a reason why it's called the french 10: they have no defense.

They'll beat Arizona. The games I'd have circled to watch out for is Cal and Oregon State. Cal always seems to play them tough in Berkley. Besides, Stanford's offensive line is much better than Arizona's and they made the adjustments after the half.
This might sound crazy but the game against USC is in the L.A. so that's another to watch out for. If SC plays to their potential they could win. But that's a mighty big if.
