The late game of the day is where the Gameday crew will be this week.

Tougher task: picking a winner or distinguishing between Corso and the Duck.

oregon has played nobody and is unproven. i think that osu proved what they really were last year in the rose bowl: a flashy team that is soft. standford is the exact opposite. they play hard-nosed football and can wear you down. we all saw what happened last year when oregon played a team with an actual defense. i think that stanford wins by two scores.

I agree, a team with a quality D slows them down but the Rose Bowl was by no means a blowout. If not for the LeGarret Blount fumble and Ballard pulling down that hail mary on 3rd down this game could've gone the other way. Oregon looked bad against ASU and still won by 10. I think this game will be a barn burner.

i think that stanford will be by 9 or 10 and it will be close until the very end. i think that one thing that could decide this game is discipline. harbaugh has those kids focused and they don't make stupid mistakes. oregon has never been known for discipline.

If you're talking about off the field incident I agree but they seem to play smart football. I put my money on Stanford but I still think this will be a close game that could go either way. I now that a 37-14 victory over ND in South Bend seems impressive but to me it's no more impressive than Oregon beating New Mexico 72-0.

You could say the same about Stanford.

Huh? UCLA (who just hammered Texas last weekend) and Notre Dame are better (IMHO) than Tennessee and Ariz. St. We are arguing semantics here. I am one who is in the corner of Stanford here, because I think Oregon is soft. I expect Stanford to kick them in the mouth early and take the crowd out of the game. Ohio State showed last January how to beat Oregon soundly and I expect Stanford to follow that blueprint.

The UCLA win is looking better now than a couple weeks ago but that's still a middle of the pack team(Texas is nothing special this year) along with Arizona State. UT and ND are a wash. Wake Forest>New Mexico but both are still cupcakes. They also both have blowout wins over 1AA teams.

I'm leaning towards Stanford winning. Oregon's D looked awful against Arizona State. Oregon DC Nick Aliotti's gameplans are a joke and the DL can't stop the run. But, Oregon does have homefield and the revenge factor. Should be interesting.

They say Autzen Stadium can be pretty loud and i wonder if that could have an affect on Stanford. But the way Stanford is playing right now i would bet on them for sure. How could Michigan not go after Jim Harbaugh is a real mystery to me. I just see Stanford moving up in the polls and by november they could be a contender for the BCS championship.
