Oh, come on. You'll forgive some people for not really caring whether OSU finishes 4th or 6th in the AP poll. It has no significant impact on much of anything, whereas ND winning the BCS championship does.

You don't see how the small benefit from OSU moving up a spot or two in a poll of sportswriters might seem just a bit less relevant than rooting against the unlikeable monster that is ND?

It's not like people are actively rooting against OSU to spite ND.

Seriously. We're talking about a spot or two in some jurassic poll that most voters, admittedly, don't do their homework. If a kid chooses another school over tOSU because they finished 4th instead of 3rd in the AP, well, [censored] him. :lol:
