The Buckeyes didn’t win on Saturday, but still impressed top prospects.

Ohio State might not have walked away victorious on Saturday, falling to the Oklahoma Sooners 31-16, but they still impressed a long list of top recruits in Columbus for the game.

Cain enjoys OSU atmosphere

One of the most sought-after running back prospects in the class of 2019 got the opportunity to see what it would be it like toting the rock for the Buckeyes under the lights of Ohio Stadium on Saturday.

“I had a good trip and I got to experience the game day vibe, which was cool. The OSU fan base packed it with 109,000,” IMG Academy (FL) junior Noah Cain told Land-Grant Holy Land.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Cain, who rushed for over 1,000 yards last season at Denton Guyer (TX), is currently considered the top running back and 12th overall prospect in the entire class of 2019.

Other than Ohio State, programs such as LSU, Miami, Michigan, and Nebraska are currently trying to add Cain to their football squad.

With well over a year until Noah signs with a school, the Buckeye staff made sure they expressed how much they’d love to have him in the Scarlet and Gray.

“They [the OSU coaches] said I'm a priority recruit for them,” Cain said.

2019 TE has great time at Ohio State

Ohio State has a roster stacked with young tight ends and already holds a verbal commitment from 2018 standout Jeremy Ruckert, but that doesn’t mean class of 2019 recruits aren’t keeping a close eye on the Ohio State program.

One of the junior tight end prospects keeping track of the Buckeyes made the trek from the Acworth, GA area to see what Ohio State has to offer on and off of the football field.

“It was awesome. I loved the campus and the atmosphere around campus. All the fans were great and I can't wait to get back,” four-star recruit Ryland Goede told LGHL.

He wasn’t the only one excited about his OSU visit—so were members of the Buckeye coaching staff. While roaming around campus, the 6’7 Goede grabbed a few minutes from numerous coaches, including Urban Meyer.

“I talked to Coach (Kerry) Coombs, (Kevin) Wilson, and (Urban) Meyer. Really they just gave me advice and told me how much they want me to get back up there and come play for them," Goede said.

Holding over a dozen scholarship offers from programs across the country, the Buckeyes find themselves up against the likes of Georgia, Auburn, Alabama, and Nebraska for Goede, who hauled in 28 receptions for nearly 300 yards and two touchdowns last season as a sophomore at Kennesaw Mountain (GA).
