Come on, if you're to talk trash let's remember the North and South 'berg, Larry's, the C&G (small cheese pizza and a very cold Bud for a buck and a quarter), Three movie theaters, Charbert's, Ptomaine Tommies (capacity 85,650, 34 at a time) and Venetian Pizza. Oh my.

The world on lane and high, which ran mondo cano for something like five straight years. The Varsity with the bas relief depictions of chic Harley on the facade and one next to a Chinese restaurant around 12th and High, the State, I believe. That's where I saw dr. Strangelove and Psycho.

The little art tried to run deep throat in the 70s and the citizens fought them to a modified version that limited male nudity.

Marzetti's Studio 35 was on summit near Hudson and ran some great double features: Grapes of Wrath and They Shoot Horses Don't they

Or Casablanca and Play it Again, Sam.

OHIO STATE CONSIDERING PLAYING SOME FUTURE GAMES AT ST. JOHN ARENA

Ohio State basketball is considering the possibility of re-using St. John Arena for select basketball games in the future, according to an interview 97.1 The Fan conducted Thursday morning with head basketball coach Chris Holtmann.

Via the Columbus Dispatch:

“It’s already been brought up,” Holtmann said. “People have brought it up to me. I’ve brought it up. There are some issues with it that make it challenging and difficult, but I will continue to keep that on the front burner. I don’t have much control over this year’s schedule.

"Playing at St. John’s has been certainly something that’s come up and I’ve considered, whether it’s an exhibition or an early non-conference game. I’ll continue to broach the subject and see if we can make some progress on it.”

Just noticed this old post, and thought I would mention that I was originally cast for the lead in Deep Throat.

Unfortunately, during rehearsals Linda Lovelace suffered from a gag reflex and I ended up with a bit part.

“I think it was just a special occasion,” Smith told BSB. “I doubt we’ll go back. I just don’t see it. This year, I think we have 16 home games. In the years we’ve had 19, 20 or 21 home games, it’s easier to take one over there, but we’re not going to be able to do that when we have 18 or less.”

Ultimately, that decision comes down to finances. Smith said that Ohio State does take a financial hit when it plays in St. John Arena, and with fewer home games on the horizon, that financial hit is harder to take.

I was at this year's game in St John and the arena was half full at best. Can't complain about this news if the support isn't there.

That was the school’s fault. They did not include the St John game in the season tickets or scarlet&gray pass, but never bothered to mention it. It was the day before the game when we realized we didn’t actually have tickets to the game and had to go buy them. The year before when the Cleveland State game was played there and they included the game with the season tickets, the place was rocking all night.

That's a shame because the Schott wasn't built for basketball. It was built for Taylor Swift concerts and corporate suites.

Dook plays in a barn that's smaller and older than St. John. They seem to recruit just fine AND they have a real home court advantage. Our basketball games mostly feel like neutral court affairs.
