Anyone know how good their football team will be this year? St. Ignatius plays at my neighborhood high school this year (Penn HS in Indiana) which looks to be a game of top football schools from each state. Penn has came up short the last few years but has won 3-4 state titles in the last 10 -15 years or so. Penn generally has tough farm kids but has produced players such as former Michigan QB Scott Dreisbach and current NFL offensive linemen Mike Rosenthal.

St. Ignatius is always very good-period. A few years ago the team was 6-4, barely made the playoffs, and beat my alma mater St. Xavier in the state championship game, after X beat them earlier in the year. They have a good passing combo in Rudy Kirbus and Robbie Parris this year, and are always very solid everywhere else. They are a Jesuit school-like St. X, so they are not bound by parrish restrictions when it comes to getting players.

i have no idea about your local school, but odds are iggy will pound on them like few ever have before.
Not necessarily. I remember Iggy getting destroyed by a Pennsylvania school years ago, and they lost to Worthington's team last year. Out-of-state schools have a shot at beating them, especially given the three + hour ride to Indiana for the game.

That being said, it is usually hard to gauge how good a public school like Penn will do against Iggy, for the fact that public schools usually are more up and down than a program like St. Ignatius. If Penn has one of their good teams (I have noticed over the years that they get regionally ranked quite often, along with Ben Davis and Warren Central of Indy), then they have a shot. If they are just OK, then Iggy will probably win by two or more touchdowns.

Ignatius also has a DE named Ryan who was down to choosing Notre Dame or Boston College and ended up choosing the Domers. So, that should be an interesting game for you to check out.

Penn is a strange team as they really are for the most part smallish farm kids that just beat the crap out of most teams. A few year ago Warren Central had Purdue recruit Desmond Tardy and a few others and called off the dogs in the state champ game up on Penn 44-0 at the half. But that WC team was ranked like #2 in the country. Cant find any info but I thought that WC demolished a big time Ohio team as well.

I hear that Penn had a D-1 DB prospect move to another school so that hurts big time.
