Imagine this offense formation.

Its hard to explain.

But basically get rid of the TE's. Now you got 5 down lineman. Put Chris on one side and Maurice on the other. But offset them from the line. Like three yards back.

Now have Ted Ginn and Gonzo on the line split out. One on each side or go strong to one side. You would still have the required 7 men on the line with the 5 lineman, Gonzo and Ginn. Next put Pittman back where he would be in the I-Form. Then have Troy Smith go back in Pistol(Compared to Shotgun) where he is 3 yards back, parallel with Wells and Wells.

There would be an endless amount of plays out of that formation. You could run a triple option, end around, anything.

Why not just take the linemen off the field and replace them wide receivers? Or punters?
Imagine what kind of plays we could run with 5 punters on the field.....

:slappy:

I'm glad to see "Teddy Swim Team" is catching on. Was this thread always in the OD Forum or did it get moved here?

That was one of the stupidest posts I have ever read, and we are all now dumber for having read it. May God have mercy on Teddy Swim Team's soul. Did it work on NCAA 2006 or something?

Sounds like it would have decent triple option potential, I guess, but you've got nobody blocking out of the backfield with that personnel. Anyway, I convinced myself long ago that if I were qualified to create my own plays and formations, I'd be on the sidelines somewhere--not watching games from my couch like every other silly sod on the planet.

After Troy gets the snap the 4 players in the backfield can lock arms and do-si-do. Troy can then sneak the ball to one of the other players. The square dancing will confuse the opposing defense so when the 4 players break out into 4 different directions they won't know who to try to tackle. Ginn and Gonzo will grab onto both CB's and try to get them to join them in a Tango. The opposing CB's will be so sickened that the OSU WR's want to dance with them they will walk away leaving them wide open to run down the field and catch a pass from Troy. This play would be unstoppable.
