I just watched the game since I recorded it. My son told me how awesome JT looked. I thought he looked OK, not great, but in his defense he did not get as many chances or opportunities either. With that said, I thought JT looked like the 3rd best QB on the field today. I posted last year that I thought Burrow should have been given some more reps and a shot at times. I thought he had better fundamentals than JT. Today, Burrow was the second best QB in my humble opinion. I thought Haskins demonstrated the most arm strength, great placement, and the ball comes out quick with some velocity on it. He really impressed me.
I am not sure exactly what routes we were running that were different from last year, but there sure seemed to be some guys WIDE ASS OPEN today that we haven't seen in two years, against what should be one of the better secondaries in the nation next year. That is more than encouraging. I am giving that credit to Wilson. Also, for our Oline to suck so bad, facing what most agree to be the best and deepest Dline in the country, they more than held their own.
Cardale won the long ball competition standing still. 66 yds. Said if he had more time to warm up he could've thrown for 80 yds. Guy's got a cannon. I really hope he finds success in the NFL.
I'm very concerned about the tackling on the last play. I haven't seen players shy away from contact like that since the last time I saw Jabrill Peppers play.
And, unlike Peppers, he featured on South African news tonight!Yeah but that kid has better wheels than Peppers does. Not to mention Jarvis has a better Touches/TD ratio than Peppers.
