I'm very particular in where I donate my money. I have a few organizations that I donate regularly, then beyond those (where I feel my money is being used in a manner with which I am comfortable) I usually politely decline requests.
On top of that...I just bought a new house three weeks ago (without selling my old house yet: 2 mortgages suck :()...have a new son born 5 days ago...and we are switching my 8 year old son from a Public School setting at our old school district to the Private school in the new area next school year...$$$
Needless to say, things are painfully "tight" financially at the Padraig homestead.
All that being said, I consider the call from this Community (Buckeye Planet) to be a very worthy cause and want others to know that I've worked it into my budget to pony up what we can and we hope others do the same...even small amounts, when combined with several others, can turn into big amounts.
My check is officially "in the mail".

Man, do you know how many donation requests you get when you sign up for a new telephone number...my god! what a freaking hastle!!...anyway, "NO" to the Air Conditioners for Eskimos Foundation..."YES" to BuckeyePlanet!!!

I'll be in Vegas for Memorial Day Weekend... so my money is kinda tied up in my brother's bachelor party and of course me gambling for the 8 days while I am there. So me donating this year comes down to this. If I win money in Vegas my check will be in the mail when I get back from Vegas. If I lose money... well, I will still send money, but not as much as if I won.
Now since I am a gambler... how should I determine how much goes to BP? Shall I just simply put a wager down in the name of BP. Maybe $10 on Ohio State winning the National Championship? (got to check on the odds for this year) Maybe bet a certain amount on Red in roulette? Or maybe when I shoot craps I will always place a firebet wager and if I win BP gets a good portion of that winnings? Or some other bet I have yet to determine.
Hmmmm, decisions decisions.... But whatever I decide... wish BP luck

Donated on Friday. I don't understand why anyone who spends any time in this forum would not be compelled to donate. I wish I could have donated more. I really enjoy being here and the people are so cool and fun to conversate with. I really enjoy hearing all the different and unique opinions on issues, even when I don't agree with them. What Clarity has done for us is great, so any bit I can give back I am glad to do it. The Buckeye family is strong and I am glad to be a part of it. Thanks Clarity, LongwoodBuck and the Admins and Mods for what you do here.

I try to donate a little every now and then when there is some extra $$ laying around. I am sure that every one is aware that there doesn't have to be a drive going to donate.
Also, maybe its just me, but every time I try and use the donate process I get an error when authenticating to paypal. I can log into paypal just fine, just not from the donate page.

I donated friday via Paypal, the way I look at it is this: I get paid at work for wasting time here, I guess I could give a little back :)

Just as a quick aside, and thanks to all involved, I have an appointment set for tomorrow to have the 'urgent' tooth looked at by a local dentist. This is only possible because of this drive, which is one of those situations where 'thanks' doesn't really cover the sentiment.
The drive is also going to help us make better and more frequent back-ups of the site (which doesn't impact our day to day use, but will be nice if we ever suffer a catastrophic event with the server), and will allow us to introduce a new feature once Jelsoft is done with it. Moreover, it's going to allow us to implement some 'SEO' (Search Engine Optimization) software, which will increase our unregistered eyeballs, which will increase our adviews, which will help get rid of the monthly loss we represent to Sportswar currently -- the benefit there is doing what we can to help them survive and prosper, as this does the same for us in the face of steadily growing expenses.
Finally, we will still be taking a % of the donations and giving to a local cause. Unless there's good support for some specific alternative (and I'm open to anything), that will probably be a Columbus-area no-kill shelter. There are tons of worthwhile causes out there, but this allows the biggest bang for a relatively small number of bucks.
The Spring Drive is about contributing to BP (and more recently, my situation, which has been both regrettable, but also a saving grace), but that has never come with the sole stipulation that it be money. The bpWiki needs YOUR knowledge. A little bit of sharing and typing goes a long way, and represents another opportunity for the community to create its own content.
So thanks again! Will let you all know how the appointment goes tomorrow. If I'm lucky, I still just need a root canal. :) See? Another reason to give -- if you hate me, then some of your money goes towards my pain! Win win!

I don't have much to give because I'm still paying 20k in college loans(why the hell am I trying to go to Grad school?) but I will donate what I can. I hope everyone donates that is able to do so.
