Not to put a damper on everyone's optimism about attendance, but the forecast currently on www.weather.com is calling for a high temp of 48 degrees, winds up to 22MPH, and a 40% chance of rain. That weather will scare a bunch of people off, especially those that were going to take kids to the game.

Cool beans, we'll go with today. Does anybody want to give any thoughts on who they think will be taking first. Hasn't troy smith been the first the last two years or something like that. This year you have to think it will be Teddy Ginn jr. right. Should be very interesting.

Ginn will be first taken. QB's weren't drafted until the middle of the draft last year. I wouldn't look for QB's to be drafted until the end this year unless they won't be in black jerseys. If they are in black I would look for Zwick to be the first QB taken this year. When Smith isn't allowed to run he doesn't throw as well either.

I'm pretty sure Will Smith was first a couple years ago. I'd be surprised to see that TS was drafted before Krenzel two years ago. I'd guess that TGII is first this year.

QBs weren't taken till half way for one very GOOD reason.

The drafts is done by position. First you start with one position, and then you draft EVERY player at that position, then you move to the next, and so on and so forth...

It has no bearing on where in the draft you were taken, just were in your positional draft you were taken.

The draft is open by position and normally the first positions open are the one with the make or break player, or very thin positions.

My prediction will be that CB is open first and Ashton Youboty will be the first pick. CB is a thin position and Ashton is a tier above anyone else on the team.
As for the QB, that position was not taken til later because the players felt they were very similar talents and would rather pick other positions where there was a difference between 1st & 2nd string.

Actually it does. The captain's pick which position is next so if there is a lot of value in getting the first pick at a position that position will be picked sooner. If there is little difference between the top 2 choices at a position there is no reason to draft it early. That's why Gamble, and Holmes have been the first pick the past 2 years and Ginn will be this year. If the QB's are in black jerseys like last year Smith doesn't give you anything more than Zwick (in fact I would argue Zwick would be the better QB in that circumstance) so what's the point of drafting QB early? I set up my mock draft by what I perceive the need positions to be.
