Has anyone thought about posting a link to the drive on the front page so it receives a little more exposure. I found it through the new posts search function, but when I actually tried to find it in the forum it took some searching (not much, but the easier it is to find this thread the better).

Edit: I see now that it is at the top of most of the forums, but if other people are like me, they just use the new post function and never enter any of the sub forums most of the time, so it was slightly difficult for me to find.

I'm all signed up for the monthly! The heart in me wants to drop a big amount now, but the head loves this option.

I'm not going to preach to anybody because I haven't been the best in being proactive in donating in the past untill now. But, this site is priceless. I once wrote a whole long post titled "Why I Love The Buckeye Planet"... It was late one night, it felt like the begining of Jerry Maguire writing his misson statement...I put my feelings out there. Then all of a sudden I pressed something and poof it sent me back a page and gone was my version of "The Things We Think and Do Not Say." I felt at that point I couldn't rewrite what I had so elequently put together.

I pretty much talked about how more than the information, the community was important about BP. It is one of the only thing that is consistent in a lot of our lives. It is always here, rain or shine. You could have job problems, girl problems, drug problems, a death in your family...whatever.. and your community is here for you. Some may poke fun, but it's more in that big brother kind of way. We have shared births, graduations and celebrations. We have all contributed some great stories, knowledge and friendship and it is exciting to see how we grow as one.

If you are on BP often and enjoy it as much as I do... it is the right thing to do and show appreciation for what we have allowed to be a part of. The best web based community in the world.

As a relatively new member, I want to put out a challenge to all other members who joined since last year's Spring Drive.

We need to step up and show some ownership and committment as a sign of respect for the long-time members on this board. I think that by stepping up and donating, we can demonstrate that although we weren't around to help out when BP was still in diapers, and although we're not "in" with the elite, that we still are just as committed to making this the best fan community on the net.

So this challenge goes out to anyone who joined BP after the last Spring drive (people I'm calling "new members"). Assuming I can get one of the mods or admins to help me out, the challenge is this:

I will put up a 10:1 match to the site's vCash donation, from my own vFunds, to each of the first two new members to step up and donate $50 each, or the first new member who steps up and donates $100. So that means that you will get vCash both from the site (10,000 vBucks for every $1 you donate), plus another 5,000,000 vCash for the first two new members who donate $50 each or 10,000,000 vCash to the first new member to donate $100.

Go vBUCKS!

:oh:

Appreciate the offer. Don't as of yet know what all the Vcash biz means, but it seems to be important around here...my most favorite of all sites, so I'll take it seriously...so to speak.

Glad to help, but I have to send my donation snail, sorry about that. I see where to send it, can't figure out, though, who or what I make the check out to.

I understand to include BP on the memo line...but how do I make the check out. Please advise me ASAP and consider it done, today. I'm on the west coast, so it's still early.

I will match shetuck's vDonations (only because I think the rules prevent me from having to give any vCash to Piney).

Actually, the poorest of the poor could buy BB73 for a mere $316. I hear he won't do laundry, but there is some sort of deal to be struck with wives and utility bills.

There are many nasty rumors about me circulating the Internet. This isn't one of them.

Can I send straight cash homie?

Honestly I don't have a checking account and paypal may take a while to get set up and deposited. If I sent cash to that address would it still be ok?

There is a separate mailing address for cash donations. I'll PM it to you. :sneaky:

Thanks for helping out! Please make the check out to Joanna or Will Bryant, with BP on the memo line. We once tried to get our bank to accepts checks made out to BP, but they didn't like that so much since it's just a personal checking account.

Cash is also welcomed. Just wrap it in some paper please so no one gets tempted. Once you have mailed it, send me a pm so I know to look for it and I will let you know once it has arrived.

Oh, and Alpo needs help understanding vCash and how it is earned and spent. Any takers?
I'll try. vCash stands for virtual cash. It used to be that we had a place called the vplaza where you could buy things to spruce up your profile. If you notice some profiles have little gifts( if you notice mine has a OSU and Browns logo along with a medal, beer, and viagra tablet), some have color around their screen names, teams that people root for......well that's stuff you could buy. Unfortunately the plaza had to be closed because there are security loop holes. Eventually it may come back. Right now vCash is useful for doing virtual betting on various events, usually sports related. It's also useful for bragging about being vRich= virtually rich. Hope that answered some of your questions. If you have any other more specific questions feel free to PM me and if I don't have the answer I can find someone who does.

Thanks, LongwoodBuck,

Done & exactly that...to Joanna Bryant. Thanks to shetuck!!!! Mailed yesterday about 1:30PM PST. Will try to get you at least a couple of these per year! Least we can do! Appreciate this site and all the great contributors beyond words!

Seems to be quite a few of you chiefs-Admins out there, so apologize not knowing all of the who's who, yet. You may want to create an 'executive summary' sometime including a history section...so we can appreciate all the hard efforts put forth by the trailblazers & forefathers(Best wishes to Clarity). May also be a useful tool should some of us want to try and find larger, more substantial contributors, (if you see my point).

Would definitely appreciate any and all help regarding how Vcash works, etc. If left to me to discover $ implement on my own...might be a long while indeed. If any takers, would ask that you please explain in the baby-est of steps thinking of me as a slobbering toddler who knows nothing about anything...and you'd be pretty accurate. Assume nothing!!

Thanks, again.

No problem. Never leave a fellow Buckeye hanging, that's my motto. If your curious about the vbetting go to the top of the screen and look for the link that says Bookie it should be right under the Quick Links....ah link. Anyways it will give you a list on what is able to be bet on, when the time period will expire to bet on events, etc.
