More...sad to see, it was the best magazine of the 1980s arguably, but they went into a tailspin real fast and never recovered.
Hiring turds like Pat Forde were nails in the coffin too...

The leadership at SI has been trash in the moment when they needed most to have great leadership. SI didn't know what it was supposed to be, and its leadership seemed to bounce from shiny idea to shiny idea like a child with ADHD. What hope did they have?
Also, while I've never cared much for Forde, Richard Johnson and Dellenger are both very good college football writers.
