The way i understand the system is that players who live off campus have the option of being reimbursed for the amount of money it would cost a typical student to live on campus with a typical meal plan.

So in order to artificially inflate the stipend that athletes typically receive, you'd need to raise the cost of living on campus for all students which would decimate the financial resources of drunken students such as myself who are sorely needed to cheer loudly on Saturday's in the shoe. :biggrin:
