2 pullovers, 2 tickets. The wife skated (after clocking 15-20+ over) when the officer could not find his ticket book. This was apparent as he looked all over the cruiser before approaching our vehicle.

Not me, and wasn't really an "excuse" but the night that my gradfather was dying in the hospital, the same officer pulled over two of my uncles, and my dad at seperate times in the same area. My dad was the last one to get pulled over, the cop looked at his license and said, " Well I have seen other members of your family tonight, good luck and try to slow down a bit" and let him go without a ticket.

I got pulled over going 109 and the cop didn't give me a ticket. Here is how it played out.

Cop: Do you know why I pulled you over?

(I am already shocked he didn't act like I just killed his mom. Cops get so pissed off when you are going 20 over the speed limit)

Me: Uhh, I was speeding?

Cop: Yea, I clocked you at 109. License, Registration, and Proof of Insurance please.

(I give it to him and he walks back to his car. Already a little weird that he is acting like I was going 5 over)

(Cop comes back)
Cop: All right, I see you already got a ticket this year, so I am not going to give you another one, just try to watch your speed. Thanks.

Never got out of one with an 'excuse'.. best one from my uncle.. gets pulled over and says hes late for a closing.. cop takes his licsense and comes back after a few minutes and says "Mr. S & G you drive faster than you sell houses, have a nice day"

I didn't get out of the ticket, but I was going 79 in a 55 north of Lansing. I think it was on 27 or 127. Or something. Anyway, the speed limit in most of Michigan is 70, and if you aren't going at least 75, you better be in the slow lane. So I was driving about 80 in the slow lane. Apparently, there's a stretch of road that is 55. But no one was following that rule. The cop pulled me over, and said I was going 79 in a 55. I explained that I thought the speed limit in Michigan was 70. So he wrote the ticket for going 65.

I guess it was that 79 time. I think I slowed down a little before he got me on his radar.

Good point. Once you're pulled over, you're stopped. So, maybe I was going 0mph when he pulled me over.
