It was the shovel pass. When McCord did the shovel pass to Stover in the 1st quarter, I knew he was relaxed and able to let loose a bit and play. He's not always thinking so hard about the reads and progression, etc. That stuff is important, of course, but at some point the cerebral stuff becomes second nature and players start to let loose and you start to see some of their natural ability. The stuff McCord likely did in high school that got him to Ohio State in the first place.

There will be setbacks still, I'm sure, but that shovel pass showed me that the game is slowing down for him. Nice timing.
