UCLA loses to a bad Oregon team by 17 points their last game. This is not a special bunch of Bruins.

Sparty manages to cut the deficit to 10 with 15 minutes left - plenty of time. Seven minutes later, it's a 21 point UCLA lead and Lucas finally scores his first two points of the game. Nice. :roll1:

I've never seen such a gutless bunch of Spartans under Izzo. Their level of play isn't remotely close to their talent. They're an embarrassment to themselves, the Big Ten, and my bracket.

Fuck you, Sparty! :pissed:

I'm not even sure it's "guts"...they just don't have very good players aside from Lucas who's playing like he has Ben Howland's balls stuck in his throat.

Several of their players were in the Final Four last year - Roe, Summers, Green, Lucas, Sherman, Kebler. There's no excuse for their performance this season.

Lucious was a huge part of that success, as was Allen. Losing them hurt badly. Guess it doesn't explain Summers' regression, but they were key parts of that team and nobody stepped up to replace them.

Looking at their entire body of work this season they underperformed greatly. Certainly not typical Izzo team.

The second half of this game has shown what they have had but not used much - desire. These guys are sweating and hustling more than Ive seen out of any top team lately. They want it bad, but it might just be a littel too late.

Sparty plays like crap for half the night, yet they're only down 4 in the last minute. Too bad they didn't play well for 30 minutes. That would've been enough against this UCLA team. But 20 minutes is not. :ohwell:
