Spam was developed to feed soldiers during the 2nd world war. It is a ham based meat. It is spicy and I loved it fried with eggs or in a sandwich. It does have it's own distinct taste so not everyone likes it but if you were in the war you love it.
Here is a link to hear their song . http://www.spam.com/
Some soldiers referred to Spam as 'ham that didn't pass its physical' and 'meatloaf without basic training

The Islanders eat that shit by the pound. Fried, in eggs, on toast, SPAN ka-bobs, you think of a way to eat it...they do.

Waiting for Mili to weigh in...5...4...3...2..1...

I actually like it.

i've been waiting for mili too

Wait no longer.

I had SPAM a few times as a young teen (back in the early '70s) and thought it was OK, but never really had it again until I moved over here. As BB73 mentioned way earlier in the thread and as Fols mentioned above, SPAM is huge in Hawaii. You can even get "one local breakfes' plattah" (scrambled eggs, rice, SPAM, and ortugese sausage) at McDonald's. Eating SPAM in all the different ways "da locals fix 'em" makes you like it more. A grilled egg, SPAM, and cheese sandwich on sourdough toast is the fucking bomb.

SPAM is literally a part of Hawaiian culture...

Yeah, we all get your schtick about digging up old threads just to post semi-relevant shit, but the thread title specifically states it deals the food Spam, and not e-mail (or any other cyber) spam...

Good point, I'll move it.

P.S.

FWIW, I was in Pago Pago, American Samoa last month and SPAM is huge there too.
