NASA's just lucky that the shuttle didn't get pulled off course by Michigan's sucking.

My understanding is that it is going to end up somewhere on the USC campus...

It's going to end up at the California Science Center which is next to the Coliseum. So just S of the campus.

The delivery is going to be a silly publicity stunt featuring it being towed by a Toyota pickup.

Endeavour is now on her way home to California! Flying across the country on the back of a specially modified Boeing 747 Shuttle Carrier Aircraft, Endeavour will arrive at LAX (weather permitting) on Friday, September 21, 2012 .

Around 10:30 am on Friday, or shortly after, watch for flyovers of Endeavour in the Los Angeles area. There will be opportunities to see Endeavour passing regional landmarks such as, its future home at the California Science Center, Los Angeles City Hall, Disneyland, the Getty Center, Griffith Observatory, Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific, Malibu, NASA?s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Queen Mary, Universal Studios and Venice Beach, among others. Times for flyovers are flexible, pending weather conditions and operational constraints.

.../snip/...

Upon arrival, Endeavour will spend a few weeks at a United Airlines hangar undergoing preparations for transport and display. Then, Endeavour will travel through city streets on a 12-mile journey from the airport to the California Science Center, arriving in the evening on October 13, 2012. This will be the first, last and only time a space shuttle will travel through urban, public city streets. It is truly a national treasure!

Some dude here at SFO Terminal 2 was talking about how his friend took a picture of it being flown UNDER the Golden Gate Bridge... he said, "yeah, those NASA pilots are crazy..."

Me thinks I've seen crazy, and it sure as hell isn't one of the NASA pilots.
