Southern Football is teh BESTEST!!!111 (just for donny MERGE)

I do want to mention though, it's nice to see an SEC homer defending the degree of difficulty of his beloved conference. Especially bragging on Georgia and Florida.

The last time Florida played a regular season game outside of the SEC conference states? 1991 @ Syracuse.

The last time Georgia played a regular season game outside of the SEC conference states? 1965 @ Ann Arbor!

Otis lives in Gallipolis, Oh and runs a 4.3 forty.
Goober lives in Leesburgh, Va. and runs a 4.9 forty(he's a lineman).

For the sake of this arguement, since Otis is further south than Goober, does that mean that, technically, Otis has southern speed ?

All I know is if Florida speed is great, Antartican speed must be out of this world.

untrue actually. though i can see where you are making your mistake. you see, florida is to speed as the equator is to heat. there is a line that runs through florida (and many southern states). the closer you are to this line the faster you are. its sort of like growing up next to power lines or a toxic waste dump.

I know Ohio State is a good team (and maybe the best), but I want to dispel all the myths out there that the best players don't come from the South. Here is a little study I did while taking a break from law school studying: Read it and weep, midwesterners -

I have broken down the US into 5 regions with 10 states each with roughly the same population in each region.
SOUTHEAST: GA, FL, AL, MS, LA, AR, TN, NC, SC, VA
NORTHEAST: ME, VT, NH, MASS, RI, CT, NJ, DE, MD, NY (DC)
MIDEAST: PA, WV, KY, OH, MICH, IND, ILL, WISC, IOWA, MINN
MIDWEST: MO, ND, SD, NE, KS, OK, TX, NM, CO, WY
PACIFIC: MT, ID, UT, AZ, NV, CA, OR, WA, HI, AK

So, based on those regions, here are the total nfl football players from each, plus the total population from each, with finally the amount of nfl players per person in the region:

SE: 606; 55,382,775 = 1 nfl player per every 91,390
NE: 139; 47,965,469= 1 nfl player per every 340,959
ME: 306; 69618093= 1 nfl player per every 227,510
MW: 268; 41814717= 1 nfl player per every 156,025
PAC: 309; 56613088= 1 nfl player per every 183,213
I got these player numbers from here:
http://www.nflhs.com/news/features/NFLPlayersStateCountry_10152001_sim.asp

So, while the above nfl players might not be exactly accurate, the few it may be off due to injuries, retirees, and cut players is not enough to make a significant difference.

The South has the most NFL players, plus the most players per population size. THEREFORE THE BEST PLAYERS COME FROM THE SOUTH

I can go even further, and show that Georgia-Florida has the best players also ? much more than California, Texas, or Ohio-Pennsylvania (the other areas people argue are better than GA-FL):

GA-FL ? nfl players: 253; population: 24,168,831; sq. mileage: 111,915
1 player per 95,529; 1 player per 412 sq. miles
Cali ? nfl players: 198; population: 33,871,648; sq. mileage: 155,973
1 player per 171,069; 1 player per 788 sq. miles
Tex ? nfl players: 173; population: 20,831,820; sq. mileage: 261,914
1 player per 120,415; 1 player per 1513 sq. miles
OH-PA ? nfl players: 198; population: 23,694,194; sq. mileage: 85,773
1 player per 119,668; 1 player per 433 sq. miles

So, we can argue ALL DAY about who is the best team and who is the best conference, but by the numbers, SOUTHERN FOOTBALL PLAYERS ARE THE BEST, SPECIFICALLY GEORGIA-FLORIDA - there are more nfl players from there, and nfl players are more concentrated there.

And before you all jump all over me about football being a team sport, I'm not doing this to show who is the better team. I'm doing this to prove to you high and mighty big-tenners that southern football players are better than anywhere else.

(and by the way, I can't remember the last time Ohio State beat an SEC team in a bowl game...oh wait, it's never happened.)

Please to be taking your trolling back to RSFC dumnass ($1)
