Overrated, May be. Overhyped, Definitely.

Even if USC wins this game..they are overrated unless they really blow VT in the second half, which is not going to happen. Did anybody even give VT a chance? At least one sports writer gave OSU a chance against Miami in the NC game. USC's hype was second only to Chokelahoma's.

Jarrett has looked good at points, not so good at others. But he's out there on the field, and you have to figure they've got a good one there.
USC had no answer for Randall in the first half. Which has me wondering why we haven't seen more of him running in the second.
Xavier Adibi (who has the smallest arms I've ever seen on a LB) tore a muscle in his arm.
VaTech obviously hasn't been coached on wrapping up their tackles. Their D is less than impressive. Despite that, USC hasn't looked like a top 10 team, let alone the #1. But it's the first game of the season, so who knows. Vince just made the point that it's the first game of the season for VaTech too, so it goes both ways.
VaTech has been raped with penalties, a couple of questionable value. I'm glad the Big Ten is trying out instant replay.
I like VaTech's chances.

Seriously though, horrific game-altering officiating. USC is the better team, no question, but these calls have been at decisive moments.
Funny thing is I went into this game totally apathetic about who wins. I'm from VA, but associate with UVA, not VaTech. Despite that, I think VaTech has been absolutely screwed.
The flip side of that coin is if they tackled the way you're supposed to, maybe the bad calls wouldn't have mattered.

FWIW, I think the 'USC is overrated' talk is pointless. We won't know until the end of the season if they were or weren't. We certainly can't tell from this game. A billion factors could go into why this game looks the way it does. USC deserves to be #1 because they had a share of the title, and returned most of their key personnel. That aside, they deserve it because it really doesn't matter.

so because miami fans cry about a pass interference call that WAS PASS INTERFERENCE....we cant comment on an obvious terrible call?
