Watson, Crick & A Twist
Hog Heaven - what is it, where is it? I'd always thought of the South as Hig Heaven, especially with their love of BBQ ribs, pork rubs, boar hunting and the like. Seemed like the kind of place where a nice family could even keep a pig or hog as a pet if the spirit so moved them.
Well, no longer.
These are evidently changing times and no pet pig is safe below the Mason-Dixon line.
At least that way Gator may know that one pig's death was not entirely in vain.

Mmm, you know what maybe Janice Jones just needs to get that carcass over to the local smokeroom. What better way to remember your favorite pet pig than by making it into some really good smoked pork?MACON, Ga. - A Georgia family is upset with their local sheriff's office after a deputy shot and killed their pet pig. Janice Jones said that Gator, a black, potbellied pig, was a friendly animal that her family had owned for five years and that her two children, ages 5 and 7, adored.
"I have to explain to our children that Gator is no longer a part of our family," Jones said. "Pets are not disposable to us."
....
The pig rooted around, had tusks and occasionally charged, Davis said. The sheriff's office estimated that the pig weighed close to 200 pounds, while the family estimated 90 pounds.
At least that way Gator may know that one pig's death was not entirely in vain.
