Does anyone here rock climb? I had to share this. This is a comp of some of Dan Osman's work. The guy was a world-class free soloist before he passed away in 1998. Free Solo--as in no ropes, no equipment--absolutely nothing. Almost all of the footage in this six-minute piece is rope-free. Truly mind blowing. The upside-down knee jam at roughly 2:15 in is on Fire In The Hole--a 5.12b which, if you anything about climbing, you know is a route that most people couldn't do with the security of a rope, let alone without.

All of the jumping footage is rope jumping--not bungy. Which is just nuts because ropes don't exactly have great give, so you can only imagine how hard he is being cranked when it finally catches--especially on that leap at the very end.

He died rope jumping in 1998.

This man blows my mind. He clearly wasn't of this world:

Another great picture of him solo climbing, with no rope.

Rock Climbing is awesome, Definatley not the easiest thing to do and you definatley find muscles you never knew you had. Its a great workout, the only problem is you need a group to do it. (If you are using Pro gear, trad climbing or lead climbing you need someone to belay you)

I highly recommend it to anyone who likes a challenge. it can be costly to start with buying a harness, shoes, a roap, a figure 8, quickdraws... just to start.

I still prefer rugby though
