I played this on a friend's PS3 last night and it caused me to get one hour of sleep. I loved it, and will be buying it next week. :banger:

Felt a lot like S2. Just need to find a new Foxhunt.. any recommendations?

Get it.

I play about 2-3 hours a night - as addicting as SOCOM 2

The developer seems committed to making it the best SOCOM yet..

Picked it up today, just played some respawn. Pretty much love it. Feels a lot like S2, but I find it easier. Nothing wrong with that. S2 was a beast to master. The elite at that game could not be stopped.

I shall venture into ranked games soon and see how I do there..

How do I get this fucking headset into pairing mode?

I did it once, but it still didn't work with Socom. I want to play ranked matches, but not without a headset.

Headset came without instructions.

EDIT: Got it in pairing mode, it would just be nice if the PS3 would find it. :roll1:

Ok - beware, I don't have the headset - from what I understand.. plug the headset into the PS3.. turn it on, and you're done. It's made to pair automatically when plugged in the first time.

Fuck the bluetooth - I'm using the old school SOCOM II headset.. the mute button is perfect.

I've been logged out of my account three times because I've signed in on another PS3... now the connection to the PS Network is timing out.

Fuck PSN. I can tell that Xbox's online stuff is far superior already. I just want to play some Socom. :(

Did you hard wire your PS3's network with Cat-5 or are you using the WiFi? The PS3's WiFi reliability sucks donkey dick.

Don't use wifi if you are..

There is a big diffrence between pay (xbox) and free (ps3) services.. the xbox online is superior.. with that said, I've had no problems with SOCOM since 1.2 came out

The network was down, so I was getting all worked up for nothing. :tongue2: I also forgot that I pay for Xbox Live. I can't complain with free online play with PS3. It's not as good as Xbox Live, but it's unfair to expect it to be.

Ended up playing until about 6 AM, going to bed around 8 AM. Had to work at 11. :lol:

Love this game.. I'm addicted already. I hear a lot of hate for Quarantine, but I love that map. Favorites are Fallen, Crossroads, Quarantine.

The hate for quarentine is because people don't communicate.. the rambo's of SOCOM hate that map because they rush out and get killed. Quarentine is one of my favorites too.. rumors are a map pack is in the works.. before the game released, the developers said every 3 months a new set of maps/weapons/factions will be coming out..

The rank in this game is having problems. In the lobby there are 2 ranks:

"clan rank" the little logo and number next to peoples names - they go from 1 - 10

"SOCOM rating" it's a 0 right now in the lobby. If you view your stats, you'll notice a number called your rating. The lobby is supposed to display this number as well, but currently isn't.. should be fixed in 1.3.

You need to be in a clan to have a "clan rank".. if you leave your clan, that goes back to 0.

I'm a 5 in my clan, but my rating is 21. We disbanded our clan and made a new one.. my clan rank reset, but my rating did not.

The rank is also on a delay.. 1-3 game delay before the new stats are posted.
