I saw a picture of the 86-car crash in scUM-land on a national news show this morning. You'd think those folks would know how to drive in the snow.

In their defense the reports were black ice and then a white-out. It happened right along the lakeshore. At least the cops did not write anyone tickets as opposed to the bastard in Toledo who wrote me years ago when I was one of a bunch of cars that wrecked on black ice.

We are supposed to get a few inches of snow tonight, followed by freezing rain tomorrow, followed by more snow tomorrow night.

I will not be providing pictures either.

See.. you said it yourself... it's a black and white issue... ticket them all... they're from Mich*&%$ ...
Sorry to threadjack, but I felt the need to share something disturbing. After I'd lived up here in Spartyland for a year or so, I came back to good ole Cbus to visit my OSU friends. One of them told me that I'd started to mix a bit of Canuck accent into my speech.
...
I don't remember much about the next few minutes... but my knuckles hurt the next day, and he won't return my calls anymore. I refuse to sound like a weasel-land dweller. Dammit.

Oh, and an afterthought... I do not say 'aboot' or 'eh.' apparently i just got my accents modified some. Still sucks, though... and it makes me paranoid.

Edit: and now that i think about it, I really don't know why he'd think I sound canadian.... although I guess it could be said that people around here sound just a bit toward the canadian accent... idunno. see? what did I tell you.... paranoia!!

That's because most people in Columbus have that southern Ohio accent.

Well, just a trace of snow today followed by freezing rain, hail and then a couple of inches of snow. Lots of thunder and lighting as well. Oh yeah, parts of west MI are under a tornado watch!!! Yeah, tornado watch in the snowbelt in February. This is one f*$#ed up state!

Chicago had a thunderstorm earlier today, as well as a tornado alert (I'm not sure if it was a watch or a warning - it wasn't close to me).

I love this blurb on 10tv's website:

A Heavy Snow Warning is in effect overnight and most of the day Tuesday for parts of central Ohio, Including Columbus.

Snow Advisories are in effect from Delaware County North,
and Winter Storm Warnings for ice and snow from Ross County South.

As much as 3-6 inches of snow is possible Tuesday morning and afternoon, but tapering off quickly to the north.

By the way...
Spring officially arrived Monday at 1:26 p.m.!
